Harlem
By Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

The album title Or Does It Explode? bears witness to the saga-like musical journey and ascension of Black History. An adult contemporary Hip Hop band, Black History has endeavored to make music so important, it is one day regarded as Black history. Founded by emcee and guitarist Shun McGhee, the band is composed of the dopest musicians DC’s Capital Beltway has to offer; their names and contributions can be found in the credit section of the album.
For folks who have been waiting to hear from a band steeped in the Griot Soul tradition and soaked in live instrumentation, your wait is over. Press play.
